IS VOTING BY MAIL (ABSENTEE VOTING IS THE SAME AS VOTING BY MAIL) SAFE?


In the State of Michigan. Every registered voter, now has the right under the Michigan Constitution to vote by mail under Proposal 3, which was passed in 2018.


Military Service Members vote by mail.


Voting by mail is convenient and safe as well as a reliable way to vote. Voting by mail in Michigan is protected by security measures such as, checking the voter's signature on the ballot. Also, the local clerks verify the voter has not died, moved or been sentenced since requesting their absentee ballot.


You can take your absentee ballot completely filled out to your city clerk by 8 pm on Election Day.

IF YOU CHANGE YOUR MIND AND DECIDE TO GO TO THE POLLS.


It is important to know, voters who received their absentee ballot but, did not return it are flagged in the electronic poll book . You therefore, must turn in your absentee ballot or sign an affidavit that it was lost or destroyed before voting at your polling place.
